Gum Health and Treatments
Gums are the foundation that hold your teeth.
No matter how healthy the teeth are, if the gums are not in good condition, this can have some serious consequences to teeth. People who have unhealthy gums or gingivitis normally suffer from bleeding gums, bad breath, discolouration of the teeth, gum recession, loose teeth and sometimes a bad taste. If not managed promptly, you can lose your teeth. We manage gum disease with periodontal treatment to help remove the tartar that causes the disease. In addition to that, home care (that is, practicing good oral hygiene) is also highly important to help restore the gums.
Studies have shown that there is a relationship between poor oral health and the development of medical conditions such as heart disease, cancers, diabetes etc.
